What do Hannam and Itaewon families ask us about?
A children’s dentist, with explanations in English
Dr. Ho-seon Lee, a board-certified pediatric dentist, leads check-ups, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, fillings and crowns for baby teeth. Let us know when you book that you’d like English support — Dr. Sally Chaekyung Lee and our team can help explain your child’s care in English. For nervous children, see anxious children .
Dental injuries and urgent problems
If your child chips or knocks out a tooth, call us during opening hours. A knocked-out adult tooth is time-critical; outside our hours, go to a hospital emergency department, and call 119 for breathing problems, heavy bleeding or a head injury. Read our dental injuries guide before you need it.
Orthodontics for the whole family
Dr. Lee treats children, teens and adults, from early growth-phase care to Invisalign and braces.
Before your first visit
Send us a WhatsApp message or email in English with who the appointment is for, your main concern, the days that suit you and, if you’re here for a fixed term, roughly when you expect to leave.
For a first orthodontic visit, allow about 60 minutes and bring your passport or Residence Card. Read more in how to book .
Hannam & Itaewon FAQs
What’s the subway route from Itaewon to Isu Station?
Take Line 6 from Itaewon to Samgakji and change to Line 4. Ride Line 4 in the direction of Sadang, through Ichon and Dongjak, to Chongshin Univ. (Isu) — the same station as Isu on Line 7. Leave by Exit 2; the clinic is about a 1-minute walk, with direct underground access.
Is a taxi from Hannam a good option with young children?
It can be, especially after school. Show the driver our Korean address, 서울 서초구 동작대로 118 방배예다인프라자 4층, or paste it into a taxi app. Journey times vary with traffic, so allow some extra time, and if you’re running late, message us on WhatsApp.
Can my child be seen for a chipped or knocked-out tooth?
Yes — dental injuries and urgent visits are part of our children’s care. Call us during opening hours. If an adult tooth is knocked out, act quickly: hold it by the crown, rinse briefly, and replant it or keep it in milk. Never put a baby tooth back. After hours, go to a hospital emergency department; call 119 for serious injuries.
Does the clinic offer laughing gas for nervous children?
Yes. Laughing gas (nitrous oxide) sedation is available for children’s dental treatment. It helps many children feel calmer while staying awake and able to respond, and it wears off quickly. It is not general anaesthesia. Your child’s dentist will assess whether it suits your child.
We’ll only be in Seoul for a year — is orthodontic treatment realistic?
It depends on what needs correcting. Some limited problems can be addressed within a shorter stay; more complex treatment usually takes longer. Dr. Lee will tell you honestly what is achievable before you leave and, if needed, prepare full English records so an orthodontist in your next country can continue.
