How does Angel Aligner work?
Like other clear aligner systems, Angel Aligner uses a sequence of thin, transparent trays. Each tray is shaped slightly differently from the one before, so as you progress through the series, your teeth are moved in small, planned steps. The aligners come out for meals and brushing and go back in afterwards.
Two parts of the system are specific to Angel Aligner:
- iOrtho™ planning software. Your intraoral scan is loaded into iOrtho, where the orthodontist maps each tooth movement, decides where small tooth-coloured attachments are needed and previews the planned result in 3D.
- MasterControl materials. Angel Aligner trays are made from its MasterControl family of materials, including MasterControl S. The orthodontist’s plan, not the material alone, determines how teeth move.
Software and materials are tools. The diagnosis, the choice of movements and the judgement about when aligners are or are not the right appliance come from the orthodontist.
Who is a good candidate for Angel Aligner?
After an examination, Dr. Lee may suggest Angel Aligner for teenagers and adults with problems such as:
- Crowded teeth and gaps between teeth
- Teeth that have shifted after earlier braces ( re-treatment )
- Many deep bites and some crossbites
- Adults who want an appliance that is hard to notice at work
Aligners rely on consistent wear, so they suit people who can keep them in for most of the day. Some skeletal problems, large root movements or severe rotations are more predictable with fixed braces or a combined approach. For children whose baby teeth are still changing, see Angel Aligner KiD .
What does treatment involve at Yonsei Baro?
Step 1: Examination and records
About 60 minutes, including an intraoral digital scan, photographs, and X-rays or a 3D CT scan of the teeth, roots and jaw joints. Dr. Lee examines your bite, gums and facial balance herself.
Step 2: Your iOrtho plan
Dr. Lee designs and refines the plan in iOrtho, then shows you the planned movements, explains whether attachments or elastics are needed, and gives you an estimated timeline and written estimate.
Step 3: Fitting and follow-up
Attachments are bonded and you receive your aligners and wear instructions. Check-ups follow about every 6–10 weeks. If teeth do not track as planned, Dr. Lee takes a new scan and adjusts the plan.
Step 4: Retention
Every case ends with retainers and continued retention check-ups, because teeth tend to drift without them.
How do we choose between Angel Aligner and Invisalign?
We offer both Invisalign and Angel Aligner. Both make aligners for each patient, and both can treat a wide range of cases. Dr. Lee recommends one after looking at your bite, the movements needed and the product options that fit your plan, and she explains her reasoning. Our Invisalign vs Angel Aligner page compares the two neutrally.
Dr. Lee is a 2026 Invisalign® Purple Diamond Provider. Provider tiers reflect the volume of Invisalign cases a doctor has treated, which speaks to aligner experience, not to a guaranteed result. The same clinical judgement — where attachments go, when elastics help, when braces would be more predictable — applies whichever system you use.
Angel Aligner FAQs
Is Angel Aligner suitable for adults?
Yes, for many adults. Teeth can be moved at any age when the gums and supporting bone are healthy. Adults often choose aligners because they are hard to notice and come out for meals. Dr. Lee checks gum health, existing crowns and fillings, and your bite before recommending Angel Aligner or another option.
What does iOrtho planning show me before treatment starts?
iOrtho displays a 3D simulation of how your teeth are planned to move, stage by stage, toward the final position. Dr. Lee uses it to explain the movements, where attachments will go and roughly how many aligners are planned. It is a plan, not a promise: real teeth sometimes need adjustments along the way.
How often will I change Angel Aligner trays?
The change schedule depends on your plan and the movements involved, so Dr. Lee sets it individually and may adjust it as treatment progresses. Wear each set for the full time instructed, about 20–22 hours a day. Moving to the next set early, before the teeth have caught up, can slow treatment down.
Does Angel Aligner treatment feel uncomfortable?
Most people feel pressure or tenderness for a day or two after starting a new set, which usually settles quickly. Attachments may feel unusual against the lips at first. If an edge rubs or a tray cracks, message us a photo on WhatsApp or KakaoTalk and we will advise you.
Can I continue Angel Aligner treatment if I move abroad?
Tell us your plans early, as continuation depends on whether a provider in your next country offers the system. Before you leave, we prepare English records, digital 3D scans in standard formats, progress notes and appliance details, and can contact your new orthodontist directly to help them continue or adapt your plan.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Treatment results and duration vary from person to person. Orthodontic treatment can cause temporary discomfort and, in some cases, root shortening, gum recession or tooth decay if oral hygiene is poor; teeth can relapse if retainers are not worn as instructed.
