Who we are

Yonsei Baro is a specialist practice for straightening teeth and caring for children’s smiles, on the fourth floor of Bangbae Yedain Plaza, with direct underground access from Isu Station. The clinic is registered in English as Yonsei Baro Orthodontic Clinic (in Korean, 이수연세바로치과교정과의원) and is led by its representative director, Dr. Sally Chaekyung Lee.

Two specialties work side by side here. Orthodontics covers braces, clear aligners and growth guidance for every age, while kids’ dentistry covers check-ups, prevention, fillings and urgent care for children. Many families use both, and having them under one roof means a growing child’s teeth and bite are looked after in the same place.

What does “scientifically precise, aesthetically refined” mean in practice?

It is the phrase Dr. Lee uses for her approach. “Scientifically precise” means diagnosis does not stop at crooked teeth: she examines the bite, the tooth roots, the jaw skeleton and the way everything relates to the whole face before recommending anything. “Aesthetically refined” means the plan aims for a smile that suits your face, not just a straight row of teeth.

It also means continuity. Dr. Lee personally handles each orthodontic consultation and every treatment explanation, and patients are not passed between doctors from the first visit to the day braces come off. Read how our four-step care process works .

Meet our two specialists

Dr. Sally Chaekyung Lee, DDS, PhD is a board-certified orthodontist, an adjunct professor of orthodontics at Yonsei University and a 2026 Invisalign® Purple Diamond Provider. She trained at Yonsei University and Severance Hospital, with exchange training at USC and UCLA, and speaks fluent English.

Dr. Ho-seon Lee is a board-certified pediatric dentist and our Director of Pediatric Dentistry. She leads check-ups, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, fillings and crowns for baby teeth, laughing-gas sedation and care for dental injuries.

Both hold specialist certification from Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare. Learn what that certification means .

Technology that supports the diagnosis

Good orthodontic decisions depend on good information. The clinic uses a RAY Quantum 5D CT for three-dimensional images of teeth, roots, jawbone and jaw joints; a growth-analysis program to time treatment for growing children; an intraoral digital scanner instead of impression putty; a RAY Face 3D face scanner; and NovaCare, a device used to ease discomfort while you adapt to an appliance. See what each one does for you .

Why do international families choose a clinic at Isu Station?

Many of our patients are in Seoul for work or study. No clinic is the right fit for everyone, but these are the practical things we offer international families:

  • English with the orthodontist herself. Dr. Lee explains your diagnosis, options and progress in English, and WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach us in English.
  • Paperwork for insurers abroad. English receipts, itemised statements, medical certificates and doctor’s letters are available on request. See insurance and receipts .
  • Plans that survive a move. If you leave Korea mid-treatment, we prepare English records, 3D scans and progress notes for your next orthodontist. See moving during treatment .
  • Hours around school and work. Evening appointments until 9 PM on Mondays and Thursdays, and Saturday mornings.
  • Easy to reach. Lines 4 and 7 stop at Isu Station, and Ichon is two stops away on Line 4. See directions .
