What do Bangbae and Seocho families ask us about?

When should my child have a first orthodontic check?

The American Association of Orthodontists suggests around age 7. Often the answer is to monitor growth and check again later; sometimes a simple appliance at the right time helps. Dr. Lee, a mother herself, explains the options without pressure. See early orthodontic treatment .

Is it too late for adult orthodontics?

There is no upper age limit if your gums and bone are healthy. Dr. Lee had orthodontic re-treatment herself in her thirties, so she understands the questions adults bring. Options include clear aligners and ceramic or lingual braces. See adult orthodontics .

Who sees younger children for check-ups?

Children’s check-ups, cleanings, sealants and fillings are led by Dr. Ho-seon Lee, a board-certified pediatric dentist. Let us know when you book that you’d like English support — Dr. Sally Chaekyung Lee and our team can help explain your child’s care in English. See check-ups and cleanings .

Why a clinic close to home helps

Orthodontic treatment runs over many months, with check-ups about every 4–6 weeks for braces and about every 6–10 weeks for aligners. Being nearby also helps when something goes wrong. If a bracket comes loose or an aligner is lost, send us a photo on WhatsApp or KakaoTalk; we’ll advise you and arrange a visit if needed. See braces and aligner problems .

Bangbae & Seocho FAQs

  • Can we walk to Yonsei Baro from Bangbae-dong?

It depends on where in Bangbae-dong you live. The clinic is at 118 Dongjak-daero, beside Isu Station Exit 2, so for homes near the station a walk may be simplest. From further away, a local bus, a short taxi ride or Line 7 from Naebang may suit you better.

  • How do I get to the clinic from Naebang Station?

Take Line 7 one stop to Isu and leave by Exit 2. From the exit, the clinic is about a 1-minute walk with direct underground access, on the 4th floor of Bangbae Yedain Plaza. If you’re not sure which way to go once you’re out of the ticket gates, message us on WhatsApp.

  • Is Yonsei Baro in Seocho-gu?

Yes. Our address is 4F, Bangbae Yedain Plaza, 118 Dongjak-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul 06568. In Korean, for taxis and car navigation: 서울 서초구 동작대로 118 방배예다인프라자 4층. The clinic is about a 1-minute walk from Isu Station Exit 2, which is served by Line 4 and Line 7.

  • Can my teenager have orthodontic appointments after school on weekdays?

Yes. We’re open until 9 PM on Mondays and Thursdays and until 7 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as Saturday mornings from 9 AM to 2 PM. Because braces check-ups are usually about every 4–6 weeks, many teens can keep up with visits without missing lessons.

  • Are children’s fillings and sealants covered by Korean health insurance?

For children enrolled in Korea’s National Health Insurance, some care can be covered under certain conditions — for example, sealants on permanent molars and tooth-coloured fillings on permanent teeth for younger children. Eligibility and co-payments depend on age and the tooth involved, so we confirm coverage at your visit.
